The Tauern Cycle Trail

The famous Tauern Cycle Trail (“Tauernradweg”) offers ambitious cyclists and mountain bikers plenty of variety. Running from Pinzgau in Salzburg to Germany, the Tauern Cycle Trail winds past picturesque towns and exciting attractions.
The starting point for the Tauern Cycle Trail is the holiday resort of Krimml. Right at the beginning of the route are the world-famous Krimml Waterfalls. Start your bike tour with this wonder of nature, and take the time to visit the Wasserwelten visitors’ centre. The Tauern Cycle Trail can be completed in fairly easy stages, so even less committed cyclists will enjoy the 310-kilometre route. The final destination of this great route is Passau. The first stage is from Krimml to Mittersill.
