Cycling keeps you fit in body and mind – fresh air and exercise are the secret to wellbeing. The famous Tauern Cycle Trail (“Tauernradweg”) offers ambitious cyclists and mountain bikers plenty of variety. Running from Pinzgau in Salzburg to Germany, the Tauern Cycle Trail winds past picturesque towns and exciting attractions.
The starting point for the Tauern Cycle Trail is the holiday resort of Krimml. Right at the beginning of the route are the world-famous Krimml Waterfalls. Start your bike tour with this wonder of nature, and take the time to visit the Wasserwelten visitors’ centre. The Tauern Cycle Trail can be completed in fairly easy stages, so even less committed cyclists will enjoy the 310-kilometre route. The final destination of this great route is Passau. The first stage is from Krimml to Mittersill.
Mountain-loving cyclists who want to scale the heights can hire e-bikes. Electric bikes give you extra pedal power and let you save your energy as you need. A great way to reach your chosen destination with no more effort than is comfortable for you. Explore the beautiful countryside around the Zillertal Arena in comfort at speeds of up to 25 km/h on an e-bike. If not only the cyclist but also the bike runs out of power after around 40 - 60 km or 5 - 6 hours, you can simply recharge the battery at one of our charging points before continuing on your way.
