Almflieger Gerlosstein
The Almflieger Gerlosstein offers a perfect combination of fresh mountain air, adrenaline and unique views. On four spectacular routes up to 738 metres long, you will glide over the Gerlosstein area at around 50 km/h – an experience that is guaranteed to thrill action fans. The ascent is easy with the Gerlossteinbahn cable car, and your flying adventure starts right at the mountain station. Guided Almflieger tours are offered three times a day, ideal for those who want to enjoy the experience in the company of a guide. An impressive perspective of the mountain world and a feeling of boundless freedom await you.

Meeting point
- Gerlossteinbahn top station
- Take the Gerlossteinbahn no later than 9:30 a.m. | 1:00 p.m. | 2:30 p.m.
- Parking at the Gerlossteinbahn in Hainzenberg is free if you have a valid ticket. Please validate your parking ticket at the bottom station before boarding.
Participation requirements
- Maximum weight: 120 kg
- Minimum weight: 40 kg
- Minimum age: 8 years
- Children aged 8 to 10 may only use the Almflieger Gerlosstein when accompanied by a parent or guardian, and minors aged between 11 and 18 may only use it when accompanied by an adult. Consent from a parent or guardian is required in all cases.
Clothing and equipment
- Sportswear and sturdy footwear are required.
- The equipment (helmet and harness) required to use the Almflieger is available on site & included.
Good to know
- No fear of heights
- Maximum number of participants per Almfliegertour: 10:00 am: 20 people // 1:15 pm & 2:45 pm: 15 people
- In the event of rain or thunderstorms, the Almflieger is not in operation for safety reasons!
- Tickets can be booked online up until the day before. Any remaining places can be booked on site at the Gerlossteinbahn.
- Not suitable for: pregnant women, people who, for health or other reasons, are unable to meet the safety requirements, and people under the influence of alcohol, medication or intoxicating substances.

Almparadies Gerlosstein
There are many new attractions to discover on the Gerlosstein adventure mountain in Hainzenberg under the motto “back to the source”. On the “Almpromenade” themed trail you can learn a lot of interesting facts about Zillertal’s history and culture from beautifully designed information boards. The stations’ stories include the exciting legend of the witch of Gerlosstein, you learn what the stone sheep has to do with the Zillertal Doggln and it becomes clear just how important music has always been for the longest Tyrolean side valley. Many interactive elements make the trail exciting for children as well, so that even the youngest mountain enthusiasts can complete the approximately one-hour hike with ease. Tip: Why not play the world-famous Christmas carol “Silent Night, Holy Night” with the bells or turn the stone sheep’s horn and see what happens! At the end of the Almpromenade you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains from the Almtribüne, the box seat above the Zillertal.
