The starting point is the music pavilion in Gerlos. From there it goes on the main road in an easterly direction about 2 km to the junction Auerschlag. Turning right, the forest road (gravel road) begins with ascending and partly flat passages. The route leads mostly through the forest. Once you have crossed the forest, you will be rewarded with the beautiful and wide view over the Durlassboden reservoir. The last 1 1/2 km then lead downhill to the Bärschlagalm. From here, the route leads to the 447 Wildgerlostal.
