Off-piste adventures
The new craze in the Alps is ski touring. Special skis with skins for a good grip uphill and special ski boots: that’s all you need, and you’re perfectly equipped for ski touring. Explore the Salzburg and Tirol mountains almost like you would in summer – except you’re on skis. Scale a 3,000 m-plus peak in the Hohe Tauern or take it easier on a hut-to-hut tour – the choice is yours.

Tuesday – Leisurely snowshoe hike
The hiking experience like in grandfather's times is our snowshoe hike today.
We meet at 11:30 a.m. and hike through romantic meadows and mountain forests. The meeting point is at the ski bus stop Filzstein in Hochkrimml, the hiking route depends on the snow conditions!
Registration: Until Monday 5:00 p.m. at the Wald tourist office, Tel. +43(0)65658243, late registrations are possible until Tuesday 9:00 a.m. if there are remaining places available!
Costs: With guest card including snowshoes € 10,-- (children from 12 to 15 years € 5,--). Bring your own poles - good footwear!
Requirements: easy tour - Minimum 4 and maximum 15 participants.
Duration: Pure hiking duration approx. 2 hours.

Thursday – Snowshoe hike for mountain enthusiasts
27 January to 05 March 2027
This slightly more challenging snowshoe hike takes us through our deeply snow-covered winter landscapes in the Wildgerlostal to the Leitenkammerklamm and Trisslalm. Following the tracks of native wildlife, we learn a lot of interesting things about fauna and flora during winter!
Meeting point: 11:30 a.m. at the parking lot of Alpengasthof Finkau.
Registration: By Wednesday 5:00 p.m. at the Wald Tourism Office, Tel. +43(0)65658243, late registrations are possible on Thursday until 9:00 a.m. if there are still available spots!
Costs: With guest card including snowshoes € 10,-- (Children aged 12 to 15 years € 5,--). Poles must be brought along, good footwear and basic fitness are required.
Requirement: Medium At least 4 and a maximum of 15 participants.
Duration: Pure hiking duration approx. 4 hours;
